Dad to Sarah and Micah

A little girl is born in China. She's too precious to discard, too expensive to keep. So, she's placed in a basket and dropped off near the police station where she'll be found. She spends her first months in an orphanage, not knowing what a mommy or daddy is. Across the world, a mommy and a daddy get a picture of the girl--an answer to their prayers. Though the journey that has brought them to this picture has been long, it is but the first step in an even longer journey…parenthood.

Sarah's Poem

Not an accident, but divinely planned

Conceived not by us, but created just for us

Not abandoned, but delivered

Sarah's Song

We looked for you at home,
but, we couldn’t find you anywhere.

We looked for you both high and low
knowing you were there

Waiting to be found
Waiting for the sound
of our voice

Feeling all alone
No arms to hold you tight

No mom to call your own
No one to calm the night

You’re waiting to be found
Waiting for the sound
Of our voice

Then, at last, we found you
sleeping in a distant land.

Reaching out to hold you
and take you by the hand.

It took so long to find you,
but now we understand.

None of this was chance
No random circumstance
It was God’s plan

Tears of desperate longing
now tears of joy and glee.

In love our lives are bonding
we’re now a family.

Our hearts are overflowing,
and now it’s plain to see.

Our lives have turned around
Since we heard the sound
of your voice

None of this was chance
God planned it in advance
Our lives have turned around
Since we heard the sound
of your voice
